In a book that I am reading, “How to Live a Life of Adventure: The Art of Exploring the World” by Frosty Wooldridge he highly recommends the site www.TUT.com.  I signed up for the site and like it so far (based on 5 minutes of exploring).  Here are some things that I like:

The site quote:

TUT's Adventurers Club::My TUT's Adventurers Club

The Vision Board:

TUT's Adventurers Club::Edit Visionboard

The vision board allowed me to go through hundreds of pictures and pick the ones that represent my dreams and ambitions the most.  My dream is to pursue my career in web development and be able to travel the world.  Visualizing and writing your dreams is proven to help them come to fruition.  Don’t hesitate to list your dreams and goals in the comments section and… Go check out the site for yourself!

I found this amazing story in a book I am reading called “How to Live a Life of Adventure: The Arte of Exploring the World.”  The author of this book (Frosty Wooldridge) met this man (Bob Wieland) as Frosty was on a quest to bicycle across America.  Bob was at his 980th mile mark when they met.

This was Frosty’s reaction to the news that Bob had finished his 3,400 mile quest:

“I sat at the breakfast table crying like a baby because that man had given me the courage to face my own struggles in that one meeting in the New Mexico desert.  I’m sure he touched thousands more on his remarkable journey across America.  Here’s to you, Bob Wieland, to your courage, your humor, your passion and your life.”

New Haven, Conn. – “Empowerment Through Creativity,” a free workshop presented by R. Phyllis Gelineau, professor of music at Southern Connecticut State University, will take place at SCSU on Sat., May 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is aimed at business professionals in the middle and upper management levels, but professionals who are newer to their fields can benefit as well.

Participants will engage in hands-on activities that sharpen sensory awareness, stimulate imagination, improve concentration and develop divergent thinking. By exploring strategies for enhancing flexibility and deepening sensitivity, participants will learn how to promote strong team relationships, and experience new ways of creative problem solving.

Gelineau is a gifted educator and a successful author in music education. Having published four books on music and education, Gelineau says that creative activity can play a vital role in the problem-solving process by strengthening the right, or intuitive, side of the brain to aid in finding alternative solutions.

The workshop will take place in the SCSU Michael J. Adanti Student Center Ballroom, on the third floor. Lunch is included. Space is limited, so those interested in attending should call (203) 392-5250 or email johnsonb3@southernct.edu <mailto:johnsonb3@southernct.edu> by May 2 to reserve a space. Attendees are asked to dress comfortably. Directions to the SCSU campus may be found at www.southernct.edu/aboutscsu/map/ <http://www.southernct.edu/aboutscsu/map/>

I just wanted to thank those who came to the second Milford Jaycees bowling night.  While the turnout wasn’t quite what I’d hoped, I’m planning another one for later in the year (probably fall)…and both Jess and I agreed that there needs to be improvement for getting more members to come out and get involved,  I probably needed to put the info out sooner, and with all that has been going on with me, I’m sure some of you can understand if my mind was not totally focused.  But look for another bowling night, and this time I’ll be more prepared for it!
