I cannot say enough about this weekend. I come back with such enthusiasm and excitement for the weeks to come. I learned so many great things and new ideas to bring back to the chapter.

My favorite seminar was “Chapter Programs for the Facebook Generation”, where we drew our version of a 24 year old single college student. From there we evaluated how much our projects would apeal to our stick figure. Also, this seminar addressed the balance of projects. We strive to have projects in 25% of each of the categories: International Development, Individual Development, Business, and Community. After this seminar, I realized that Milford really needs to step it up in the business category, so I will be integrating more business events in the calendar.

The networking was fantastic! I met so many great people that made an impression on me. It is such and overwhelmingly good feel that everybody in that room had the same passion for helping others and the community. I got to know the CT state board, past Jaycees and Senators, and even the US Jaycees VP Noel. Noel had such an influence on me on so many different levels. From inspirational speeches, to the invaluable one on one time that I had with him, and the great advice that he gave me. I left the convention with a whole new motivation and a strong direction.

Thanks to all of the people who welcomed me – it wasn’t easy going to the convention on my own – but I am so thankful that I did. I can’t wait to bring the positive energy and motivation back to the Milford chapter.

One Response to “State Convention was Incredible!”

  1. President Jess!

What a ray of light you are. I will trade you half my experience for half your energy!!

Actually- we don’t have to give up either, we can share both! And that’s why this organization rocks! (That and Presidents like you).

Share this momentum with new Jaycees (and let me know how I can help).
